The piano was the instrument that introduced me to music. I used to go to my cousin's and try to emulate what I had just heard on the radio on her old Yamaha keyboard. The kids in her neighborhood were lame and I never knew the channels on cable stations in Maryland. It was pretty much the only thing to do there. In high school I traveled up and down the east coast playing piano in different churches. I entertained studying piano in college but being self taught I knew I'd be playing catch-up. I was right. There were a bunch of remarkable piano players but the one who stuck out most to me (and my friends, peers, acquaintances, everybody) was Evan Duffy.

Pianist - Evan Duffy

Admittedly, I was late to the Duffy train. I became a big fan right around the time he was arranging masterful piano covers and performing them on YouTube. Honestly, one of the best musical minds I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I only knew him as an accompanist in college and i'm definitely limiting his ability by calling him just a pianist. Currently he's revered by every DJ known to man and you can hear his work both on the EDM circuit and in some of the biggest films in the last two years, including The Expendables 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Furious Seven.
